REACHING FOR THE STARS: RISINGS END OF TERM BASH

Mama Mayila attends another ram-packed Christmas party, this time it’s for Rising Academy’s end of term celebrations, a highly anticipated event that brings together students, parents and faculty in a festive atmosphere filled with joy and laughter.

The highlight of the day is an enchanting parade featuring the adorable toddlers, who proudly take the stage to model their career aspirations. This year, the little ones are dressed in imaginative costumes that reflect their dreams and ambitions, ranging from aspiring astronauts clad in shiny silver suits and helmets to herioc fire-fighters and police keeping us all safe.

As the parade continues, the audience is treated to a delightful array of future professions, with some children donning white and pink coats and stethoscopes to represent nurses and doctors, while others dress as brave members of the armed forces wearing camouflage and carrying toy rifles.

The creativity of the students is on full display, with some little ones dressed as lawyerly lawyers in sharp suits, complete with papers, while others envision themselves as bankers and potential presidents, sporting suits and ties, much to the delight of the audience. It is clear that the Rising students are not just dreaming; they are literally reaching for the stars this Christmas!

The festivities close with annual awards for outstanding pupils and Leo and Alex join in the celebration, their faces beaming with pride and excitement as Alex receives an impressive four awards of excellence during the ceremony. This includes the prestigious title of ‘Student of the Year,’ an honor he has now achieved for the fifth consecutive year, a testament to his hard work, dedication, and exceptional academic performance coming first in his class.

The joy in Mama Mayila's heart is palpable as as Alex walks up to the stage to accept his accolades and she watches her grandson shine, knowing that this moment is not just a reflection of his individual achievements, but also a celebration of the supportive community that Rising Academy fosters. This Christmas party is not just an event; it is a celebration of dreams, accomplishments, and the bright futures that lie ahead for all the children involved.
