The first of the seasons' sporting extravaganzas gets underway at SpringwaterCommunity Academy with two days of sports events involving more than 250 students.

Ram-packed with pupils, parents and well-wishers from the Mabron community, students run, jump and enthusiastically take part in a total of 40 events- including carry the doll and button your shirt.

Two hundred and thirty-eight students take part in forty events spread over two days, each athlete competing in their striking house colours, the blue of Hoogendorn, the yellow of Vincent Sesay, the purple of Alfred Conteh and the orange of Dutch-based charity, Foundation Help for Sierra Leone.
