HOPES FREE SUMMER SCHOOL RETURNS

Children celebrate on the sports pitch as Hope's free High Standards Summer School retruns today with 42 local children looking forward to a whole summer of studies.

Uncle Williams kicks off the day with prayers and a warm welcome before handing out a free breakfast snack and free learning materials including exercise books, pencils, pens, erasers and rulers.

With two qualified teachers and our very own Alex - first in BECE in the whole of the western rural district - on hand classes for kids preparing to make the move to class 6 and their national primary school exams and those who are moving to junior school next year, as well as help for those struggling with English and math.

Hope's free summer school is set to run through August with a special graduation event before the new school year starts in September.
