FOOT-THRESHING ACTION

Hope Sakumas' harvest continues with the Manays team rotating in to harvest paddy fourteen. Our engineer, Amabest has done us proud with the design of the bunds ensuring water even into dry season and extending the potential of our perenienal inland valley swamp.

Seventy-six ties are carried to the farmhouse and stacked on the pyramid to dry.

The Manays team even find time to hand-thresh some of the rice from paddies ten to 13 that's been drying in the sun, by foot, with the guys ably demonstrating this traditional method of threshing the seed from the chaff by trampling the rice straw underfoot.
