CASHEWS UNCOVERED: CLEARING FOR CASSAVA

The team survey the work in hand - making their way through thedense undergrowth to brush the cashew farm and create an essential fire-break for dry season.

And a fornights’ work later the dedicated Hope Sakuma farming team clears all the cashew trees - looking settled and ready for their first harvest later in the year - digging another 1070 cassava heaps nice and high to allow the manioc tubers to spread and grow.

Meanwhile, the heaps planted just two weeks ago with chatted cassava sticks are already sprouting fresh green leaves! Located in Sanda Magbolontor chiefom the farm provides rice, gari and palm oil to the kids in Mama Mayila's Cradle and Moa Wharf.
