HANDS-ON SCIENCE: WINDMILLS OF YOUR MIND

The kids take to the beach for some hand-on science to test their different designs of windmills cut out earlier back at the Cradle from card and pop cans.

They've been learning all about wind-generated power and this is their first practical experiment, windmills that work like a wheel within a wheel, never ending or beginning on an ever spinning bottle top even when being blocked by bodies!

But all these windmills aren't going to waste.

The kids imagine many uses and these ones are now destined for the kids farm, Hope Sakuma, where they'll be adapted for use as bird-scarers for the rice paddies.
