CELEBRATING AFRICA DAY IN SIERRA LEONE!

A happy Africa Day from Sierra Leone! The kids had a big beach clean up planned to celebrate this special day an activity for healthy lifestyles on lots of levels but rain stopped play.

Now a Bomba ice-cream - and here's an excuse for some snaps of kids enjoying a favorite - may not be lifestyles of the rich and famous but in Sierra Leone this rare treat comes pretty close and for our kids, from some difficult backgrounds, it shows how far they've come. Now all in mainstream education, many for the first time, who can tell who was orphaned by Ebola or the mudslide, who's disabled, who were beaten or worse, much worse. Eating a simple ice-cream helps transcend their lived experience transporting these kids to the childhood they deserve.
