TEAM TRAFFICKING TRAINING

People trafficking and child trafficking is happening now in Sierra Leone and is on the rise. To help address this and support victims of trafficking interim care centres and local council received intensive 3 day training on child-trafficking organized by the Ministry of Social Welfare, Gender and Children's Affairs on steps interim care centres and local councils can take to identify trafficking and protect victims as well as building capacity to care for victims of trafficking.

Organized by the Ministry of Social Welfare, Gender and Children's Affairs in collaboration with the National Task Force on Human Trafficking. The training was for all registered interim care centers and local councils in the urban and rural western district.

Our own national coordinator, uncle Williams and care coordinator Aunty Mabinty were trained by experts, Mr Dehunge Shaka from the Trafficking in Persons secretariat, the Millenium Challenge Coordinating Unit and Mangeh Sesay from the International Office of Migration, receiving certificates from training facilitator Madam Miriam Fullah, World Hope Interntional.

Organized to raise the profile of this important child protection issue that's happening now in Sierra Leone and to address the consequences of this vile trade our care coordinator will brief the whole team at next months team meet and set aside two afternoon sessions to train our all care-givers.
