HANDS-ON FARMER FIELD SCHOOL!

Sheku and Hassan were very pleased accompanying Mr Bangura and Mr Turay from JICA (Japanese International Cooperation Agency on their three-day trip to Sanda Magbolontor, visiting 12 villages and inland valley swamps to provide their first monthly on-site field school training on precision bed-making and the importance of rigorously following the calendar to get the best yield from our nerica.

The JICA team benefited Komneh, Rogbin, Masilah, Robat, Petifu, Robomp, Forekaria, Mamatay, Woliya, Kamalo, Rogthenti and Masine villages with hand-ons training of channel digging; demonstrating the right fertilizer mix depending on which of 4 varieties the village is growing - our most popular is a 4 month nerica, Buttercup a heavy rice that always brings a smile to farmers lips - and a promise to return throughout the growing season to hone farmers skills.
