CHRISTMAS IN INTERIM CARE?

Christmas in interim care is a bleak prospect for many children, with centres struggling without financial help from the government. We want to see if we can change that and make some nice memories this Christmas with these vulnerable children in Sierra Leone.

A WELCOME FROM CHILDREN IN NEED

These 58 children from Network 4 Children in Need orphanage - run by the estimable Mrs Kamara and her hard-working son, operational manager Jim Gbappy and dedicated team of 19 volunteers - could really do with some cheering up - they receive only World Food programme Support and struggle to buy things like fish, onions and maggi and the things the kids need, like toothpaste and soap.

So we talked to Mrs Kamara and Jim and everyone thought holding a Christmas party on Christmas Day would be a grand idea! What better way to celebrate Christmas and the meaning of Christmas than to throw these really disadvantaged kids a Christmas party to remember!

GIVE CHRISTMAS TO MARGARET'S KIDS

25 of them, including 16 orphans of Ebola, residing at Initiatives 4 Women & Girls Empowerment interim care centre and they could do with some cheering up - they also only receive only World Food programme Support and face the same struggles, common accross the interim care sector. And Margaret and Med agree - what better way to cheer everyone up than to throw a Christmas party on Christmas Day!

We also hope to help give a party to Manahaim House but when we call we find Madam Boyawa has been taken to hospital, her foot badly swollen.
