CHILD PROTECTION TRAINING AT MAMA MAYILA'S CRADLE

Our thanks to Alfred Sima, visiting from our partners CoDWelA who carried out the first of our scheduled training sessions for our Mama Mayila's Cradle volunteer staff at Hope Interim Care Centre.

Today's training lasted for three packed hours 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Issues around vulnerability, types of vulnerability, classes of vulnerable children, need for child care, types of care (Physical and psycho-social care) and alternative care were all discussed, provoking participation and discussion.

Caregivers shared their opinions and then worked together to draw out from the experiences of staff and children to agree best practices as a way forward, which will be incoporated in our Volunteer Staff Handbook.
