RICE AND SCHOOL FOR 61 EBOLA ORPHANS

Hope 4 Ebola Orphans provided 61 bags of rice and school materials and school fees packages for over 60 less privileged children and children orphaned by Ebola at Moa Wharf slum Community in Sierra Leone.

RICE DISTRIBUTION TO 61 EBOLA ORPHANS

The donation ceremony attracted stakeholders including a representative from the Ministry of Social Welfare Gender and Children’s Affairs, the Office of Diaspora Affairs and volunteers from Holland.

Speaking at the occasion, Co–founder and Director of H4EO, Mama Mayila Yansaneh recounted their support to Orphans in Sierra Leone; especially children orphaned by the Ebola virus at the Moa Wharf Community.

Mama Mayila offered her thanks:

"The donation we are making now was generously provided by Cor an Hanneka my Dutch friends, and as a result of their support my charity foundation has been doing well in developing the lives of vulnerable children including Ebola Orphans in the country.’’

In his statement, the Deputy Director of the Office of Diaspora Affairs (ODA), Mr Sorie Tholley briefly explained the mandate of the ODA, adding that his institution has been working relentlessly to coordinate diaspora organizations towards the development of the country.

“One of the organizations we are working with is H4EO, this organization has been working very hard to complement government effort towards the presidential Recovery Priorities’ and we have been working with them assiduously in order to ensure that they were given a piece of land at John Obey by the Government of Sierra Leone to build a Children’s Village."

WORKING TOGETHER FOR THE BETTERMENT OF SIERRA LEONE

Mr Alfred Sima Kargbo, newly appointed Chairman of the board of Directors for Hope 4 Ebola Orphans has worked in child protection services for over seventeen years now, but among the many child protection organizations he had worked with, H4EO he added really stood out and its Co- Founder and Director, Mayila Yansaneh has been very impressive in providing the necessary support to vulnerable children in the country.

SCHOOL & TUITION FEES 2 EDUCATE THE FUTURE

Making a brief statement, Cor pledged his commitment to support children:

‘’These Children are the future leaders of this country and they must be given the required support especially in the area of education, so that when they grow up they will be able to support themselves and others’’

Chief Pa Alimamy Komeh, who is a Section Chief at Moa Wharf thanked Mama Mayila Yansaneh and her Foundation for what he described as their unwavering support to his community.

Speaking after the event Mama Mayila said:

"My team carried out education outreach over the summer and it makes me very happy that every vulnerable child living in this neglected community is in school.

I cannot thank the guys at the ODA enough for their tireless work supporting diaspora led organizations, like Hope 4 Ebola Orphans, to make a real difference for the betterment of Sierra Leone."
